Solar System Hour of Code

Today we did an Hour of Code. With my partner Caroline we followed the tutorial to create this informative solar system. It has facts about each planet and I really enjoyed learning to code!

It was also really fun to collaborate with Caroline, who was an awesome partner!

The Romans

I was alone in my hut, in the dead of night, when the Romans came.

They captured me and took me on the 13 hour journey to Rome in hot sticky weather . When we got there the soldiers manhandled me into my Colosseum cell. Five minutes later the soldiers gave me a sword and told me to survive. The first opponent I was up against was Pluto. I cut him down within 10 minutes. Bloody bruised and battered I limped back to my cell.

In my cell there were three other gladiators, they were and big and hairy like me. There names are Aegus, Agrona and Angharad they say they have been ripped from their hut too. We were all from Brittany. Aegus, Agrona and Angharad had concocted an escape plan. The plan is absolutely flawless.We would have to kill four guards and steal their clothes, free all the prisoners and then escape.

We put our plan into action the following night. We waited for the guards to give us our dinner. As the guards opened the cell door we strangled them to death with our hand cuff chains and cut the chains with their swords. As we changed our clothes I thought everything was running smoothly until, two guards came. I killed then both with one swift chop.When we freed all the prisoners we loaded them into a cage on the back of the cart as a disguise.

After we had left Rome we opened the cages and freed the prisoners they thanked us hugely. Then Aegus, Agrona, Angharad and I went our separate ways but we vowed to meet again.

The Waterslide Wedgie

Five minutes of waiting finally over. I slipped my way onto the the wet water slide and got my stomach slathered up with dish washing liquid. 

"Rhys" I called "I'm gonna go down backwards into the water". 

I visualised the splash, it was going to be huge. And then it was time to slide. The dish washing liquid turned me into the *millennium falcon on hyper jump. I shot down the slide, the skin all over my body nearly peeled off from the hyper speed. When I hit the water the splash was bigger then I could ever imagine. The splash was colossal!

When I hit the water I felt a frightfully sharp pain in my bottom. I thought a crocodile had bitten me. My brain went into override running through scary thoughts such as; what if the crock comes back for more? As I painfully clambered out out of the lake I expected a trail of blood and a missing butt cheek. But I finally realised the sharp pain was...dun dun dun...

THE WEDGIE OF DOOM!!!!!!

It didn't stop me having more fun on the slide, but I didn't go down like that again. 

That day I had a new found respect for wedgie victims.

Paraparaumu Fun

Paraparaumu

As soon as I stepped out of the car I felt excited! I ran through all the fun things that could happen in my head. Let the fun begin!

I raced Ollie to the tramp. We started bouncing really high. We held the swiss ball, dropped it under our bottoms, landed on it and went flying in every direction! Ollie volunteered to teach me how to back-flip. ‘Come on Lachie, I believe in you’. Sadly all Ollie’s words of encouragement didn't work, I kept on chickening out.

Zoolander movie time! Zoolander is basically making fun of male models. The main character is Derek Zoolander. Derek is the sought of guy who acts before he thinking, same with his friends. To prove their stupidity they had a water fight with gas and one lit a cigarette and they all died except Derek.

Day Two. Time for the sick paraparaumu skate park. My first drop in felt so good and so smooth. Ollie started tail whipping the quarter and nearly clipping the fence. I had a shot, I failed so hard. It funny as. After a while me and Ollie got bored and headed to the park.

At the Waikanae pools there was a dunk tank, water slide and water run. I ran straight to the dunk tank. Its time as I stepped up onto the dunk tank plank, I felt a trifle of fear. Boom! Some little kid hit the target first shot. The water was sooo cold. The water run was super fun. I ran the full hundred metres.

After the fun filled, action packed two days it was time to go back to go home.
